The 2024 Maserati GranTurismo Trofeo is worth evaluating as a complete road-trip car. Its headline performance creates an immediate impression, but a long weekend will also reveal the quality of the seating position, suspension settings, phone integration and luggage arrangement.

This is a used-buying guide to the 2024 car. Keep that model year explicit when researching: Maserati announced revised GranTurismo models on June 18, 2026, so a current configurator is not a reliable equipment list for an earlier example.

Establish the correct powertrain and generation

The returned GranTurismo generation was announced on October 3, 2022. Its Trofeo uses the twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter Nettuno V6 and all-wheel drive. Maserati's North American launch-edition announcement quotes 542 hp for this Trofeo powertrain.

That identity matters when search results mix the earlier V8 GranTurismo, this V6 car and the electric Folgore. Treat each as a separate purchase category. An attractive price means little until the model, year and specification are aligned.

Ask for the original US window sticker or build information. Use it to verify equipment, then check that the advertised items remain present and functional on the car.

Give the suspension an ordinary-road test

Maserati's original technical material describes air springs and electronic damping. That creates a useful inspection and evaluation agenda: demonstrate the available settings, check for warnings and have a qualified technician assess operation and condition.

Drive a route that includes patched pavement, expansion joints and normal parking approaches. Begin with the setting you would choose for a long trip. A brief drive in the sportiest mode can obscure whether the car will suit everyday travel.

Keep wheel and tire specification in the notes. The launch Trofeo uses 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels, so inspect both axles rather than treating the visible front tire as representative. Ask for an installed replacement quote for the correct complete set.

Test the cabin with your own devices

Pair your phone, enter a destination and try the features you expect to use. Check charging connections, navigation guidance and audio at a realistic cruising volume. Demonstrate climate adjustments while parked so you understand the interface before driving.

The original range included different audio specifications and optional equipment. Confirm the actual installation instead of assuming that a badge or a generic advertisement proves every feature. If subscriptions or connected services are relevant, ask what can transfer and what would require a new arrangement.

Set the front seats for the intended occupants before assessing the rear. Bring representative bags and check that a four-person configuration works for your trip length. If most journeys involve two people, evaluate that arrangement rather than paying for an imagined use case.

Read the purchase numbers separately

Record the seller's asking price, any documented original MSRP and any completed-sale comparisons in separate fields. Then add inspection findings, transport, applicable transaction costs and near-term maintenance to your own budget. An original option price is not evidence of the option's present resale value.

The right Trofeo specification makes the journey pleasant after the novelty of its acceleration has faded. A careful road test and equipment audit turn the attractive grand-touring idea into a purchase you can judge on your own terms.
